What's missing is the business model. I'd love to know if this guy is making any money on this or is it purely a labor of love. Has his success brought any offers of work?
Anyone know?
Yes, I wish he had talked about the business model as well. Even then, I liked the info he provided about getting views on YouTube.
YouTube is now paying some of its most popular on-going video providers. My guess is that What the Buck? is getting a share of any advertising income from his videos.
Beyond that, right now his business model probably consists in getting enough attention that someone will want to pay him to do a live weekly or daily TV show.
If you get a chance, watch ABC's new show iConnect, which talks about the whole video phenomenon on the Internet and often features stories of people who have built a business out of doing YouTube videos. I love watching the show because there's always at least one good take-away potential money-making idea in every show.
